I suppose I'm not entitled to complain too much without knowing more about his work than I do; but if I'm going to be identified with a 'poet', I'd prefer one whose words I considered 'poetry'. Call me a philistine if you wish, but I think a work must have an identifiable arbitrary structure, such as a well-defined meter, to qualify as poetry.
