It's occurred to me that my birthday is the Monday after FKO.  I have this vague idea that it might be nice to do something other than drive home that day, and extend the trip an extra day.  This is just a thought at this point, not a plan, and I'm not sure if I can take the time.  But let's imagine that I do take that extra day.  What should I plan on doing with it?  I have little interest in just wandering around Toronto, and less interest in shopping unless there's a store where I can look at stuff I at least might be buying that I couldn't see anywhere else.  I'm not in the market for instruments right now, so music stores, no matter how wonderful, are not a priority.  A camera store might be of interest, if there is one that would actually have the equipment I'd actually like to get in stock in the store where I could see and touch it.  I know it's not the best time of year, but are there any animal or nature activities that would appeal?  I hear there are good hiking trails in the Escarpment Country -- but would the trip be wasted at that time?  I've already learned through the magic of Google that African Lion Safari is not open until May.  Are there animal places that would be open that are more about the animals than about being tourist attractions?

In general, if you know something cool to do between Toronto and Michigan, sound off.  I'm not saying I will do it -- I don't know if I'll be doing anything extra on the trip at all -- but I can't do it if I don't know about it.
