Sleep Study

Well, that wasn't much fun.

Last night I spent the night in the hospital, having a sleep study done.  It took the tech nearly an hour to get all the sensors attached, during which time I felt very sleepy.  But somehow, despite the fact that I understood that I was supposed to be issued an Ambien for the test so I would actually sleep, I only had my usual pill, and it wasn't enough to overcome the strange bed and the awkwardness of all those wires sticking to me.  It felt like it was several hours before I got to sleep, only to be awakened by a noise.  I did genuinely get to sleep a few times, but I kept being awakened.  I don't know if I was actually asleep long enough for them to get useful data on me; I'll have to wait until my followup appointment.  I didn't present clear sleep apnea soon enough to try out the CPAP that night, but from the way it felt, I may not have actually slept at all during the first half of the night.

I managed to make it through the day, but I'm feeling pretty fried now, so I'm going to bed early.
