Mar. 3rd, 2005 05:10 pmA number of years back, I was working at a company that was developing an air traffic control tower simulator. I wasn't part of the project, but I got to watch my co-workers working on it. Our shop was doing the graphics; another company was doing the actual simulation logic. The part of the program that generated incoming planes to be managed was not quite up to snuff, so to allow the people who were using the system (who weren't real air traffic controllers) to get out of tight spots easily, the test version had a debug feature: The DELETE key was armed to make the currently selected plane simply disappear from the system.
Ever since then, I've wanted a DELETE key for my dashboard.
