Printer woes

My printer -- the Canon i960 I do my photos with -- is not working.  The magenta inks are coming out in uneven stripes.  I'm trying to get it cleaned and adjusted to give a clean print, but so far it hasn't helped.

I really don't need this.

Very quick update as I'm running out the door: I seem to have beaten it into submission; at least I am getting images that look like they're supposed to this morning. I will explain the details when I'm not already 45 minutes late for an actual timed event (as opposed to just going to bed, say), which is to say after I get back from my trip to Milwaukee this weekend.
