Florida trip: Town names
Aug. 11th, 2005 06:49 pmAs I was checking the map about the name and location of Wolf Lake (which turns out to be in southern Kentucky, not northern Tennessee), I was amused to discover that I apparently drove right through the town of Phil, KY without noticing it.
But that's nowhere near as amusing as the best town name I encountered on the trip. A few miles north of Chattanooga on US 127, there's a town with a name I didn't believe was for real until I'd seen several different signs confirming that I'd really seen that. I couldn't make up a name this good.
So here's to Soddy Daisy, Tennessee. I hope you're not offended at my amusement.
