Turning of the year

I finally got off my butt and took a walk around the block.

The butterflies are gone, and that makes me sad.  But the juncos are back, bunches and bunches of them, and that makes me glad.

I think the slightly below freezing temperatures here in Wisconsin have pretty well stunned the butterflies, outside of the very warm, very humid butterfly room at the Milwaukee Public Museum.
