This is really annoying.

My latest culinary trick is making burritos.  I fry up some hamburger, or today finely chopped round steak because I needed to cook it, with diced tomatoes, a little tomato sauce, and seasonings, plop a dollop on a tortilla, a dollop of refried beans, a little shredded lettuce, and a little cheese, roll up and enjoy.

That's the plan.  But today, when I opened the package of tortillas, I discover that they're stuck together so tightly that they tear apart rather than separating into individual tortillas.  It's really hard to make burritos out of this.

Then it's time to make a burrito or taco casserole instead. Rip those suckers to shreds, layer them with your meat, sauce, cheese, etc (not the lettuce) a couple of times and then bake. Tortillas be damned! (then eaten!!!)

I hate that too! I've discovered that if you take the whole darn bag of them, stick them on a plate with a damp paper towel over them, and stick them in the microwave for a few seconds (keep trying til it works, I haven't done it recently enough to remember how long) - they will loosen enough that you can peel them better.

Good luck!

I cheat.
After the first time I open the bag and before I put the survivors in the freezer, I layer the little buggers with paper towels.

No, I'm NOT Anonymous!

But this happened when I first opened a fresh bag.

No, and they aren't that good either, but I still like 'em. And they're cheaper.
