Today's book review is Wolf Moon by Charles de Lint.

This is a small, simple novel with only a few characters and a straightforward plot, but it manages to say some fairly big things about love, trust, and what it is to be human.  A quick, satisfying book.  I can't think of much more to say without getting into spoilers.  8 out of 10.

The first interesting place I stopped on my trip (after visiting EFRC on my way out of my own neighborhood) was the Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest on Friday, July 22.  This is a park close to Louisville, KY, which has an arboretum and some other highly landscaped areas, but also has a bunch of trails through natural areas.  I only spent a couple of hours there, and only walked one trail.

After I left Bernheim woods, as I was driving through Tennessee on US 127, I stopped to get gas.  At the gas station, this very large insect first landed on my shirt, and then moved to the ground.  I took a picture of it.
*edit* After looking at the map, I realized that I met the bug in Kentucky, not Tennessee.
