tigertoyI reserved my room for FKO this morning. At C$115 a night and with a weak American dollar, it's the most I've ever paid for a hotel room except at a Worldcon. And they're charging for parking on top of that, which leaves me feeling a bit miffed. Yes, it is a nice hotel, but it does make me wonder if maybe we could get by with a somewhat less nice hotel.
But anyway, if what I've heard from various people I know is any guide, everyone in the filk universe is planning to attend. The hotel is big enough that even an OVFF size crowd will not take all the rooms, but other people want rooms too, so if you are planning to go, reserve your room early. If the room block fills up six weeks before the convention, the concom can probably negotiate for more rooms, but if you wait until the last minute, there may not be any unreserved rooms to negotiate for.
