Things to do in Vegas

I am probably going to Las Vegas around July 31 for the FCF Convention. The reason I post this now is to see if anyone who reads my journal would care to suggest some things that I might want to take an extra day or two in the area to do. I'm not interested in gambling, and I'm not very interested in shows or tourist stuff in the city; what I really want to know about is things that I could get to within reasonable distance of the city (presumably with a rental car).

So, what do you think I'd be foolish to miss while I'm there?

Well I would go see flashy girlly shows, gamble, and buy the Hungarian lots of drinks. None of which are things that probally interest you

If "The Hungarian" means who I think it means, I might consider buying him a drink, but would I actually find him in Vegas?

Gleep! I'm just a random fan; while I've been in the same room with him a time or two, I don't think we've ever spoken. I do like his work (literary and musical), and if I actually met him at a con, I'd tell him so, but I don't feel like I have enough to say to actually justify contacting him and arranging to meet him somewhere.
