Christians
Sep. 12th, 2008 11:56 amI'm not Christian, but I respect the people who are actually trying to live up to what I know of the teachings of Jesus. It's the ones who think carefully selected verses of Leviticus are more important that disgust, frighten, and infuriate me in turns. My knee-jerk reaction is to think of the latter kind whenever I hear words like "church" and "reverend". That's not the person I want to be, so I thank you for the opportunity to contemplate it.

I've met many priests who were pretty open and understanding about other religions as well, and I've never seen an Episcopal church office that gave office employees any kind of crap about what they believe or how they practice what they believe.
