OVFF is next week.  This will be good for pathetic, depressed me.  It would be even better for pathetic, depressed me to have some reassurance that I won't be sitting around alone, in the form of some actual advance plans, especially for Thursday.  If you'd like to do dinner on Thursday, please let me know.  Actually, if you'd like to dinner any day, let me know, but I'm most worried about Thursday.

I'm thinking of signing up for a theme filk slot to sing songs from the ElfQuest album A Wolfrider's Reflections.  Does anybody else remember and still love these songs?

If anyone would be interested in including me in specific musical plans, I'd be thrilled.

I also will have EFRC calendars available.  If you mention ahead of time that you'd like one, I can be sure I have one for you.

I do love these songs - although you might want to generalize it to songs about ElfQuest, as there are a limited number of songs on the album.

Depending on my schedule, I would love to have some kind of dinner plans, although I'm not sure what all I'll be doing setting up for the con.

Fwiw I still like a lot of the songs from the ElfQuest album. The ElfQuest song I sing most frequently, though, is one that was slotted to be on the album but ended up not: "With the Trees."

sorry - won't be there on Thursday. No clue what condition i'll be in by dinnertime Friday. Actually, not much clue what shape i'll be in/what plans i'll end up with at ANY point :) Well, except going to the nominees concert & the awards (for concrete timed events).
Anyway - meant to say "sorry i can't help with your original point, but definitely plan to see you, and hope we can have some form of time" :)

Oh! And yes, one calendar please :)

I won't be at OVFF this year, though I'll be at WindyCon. Next year, I think I'll skip ConClave in favor of OVFF, even though WindyCon will likely be back-to-back with it again.

What is Windycon's 2010 dates? Are they moving to October?

OVFF 26 is Oct 22-24, 2010, and is back-to-back with World Fantasy Con (which is the following weekend).

ConClave's website says they're 2 weeks earlier than OVFF, Oct 8-10, 2010.

Maybe I'm confused...I had ConClave down in one spot as this weekend (it was last weekend) so maybe that was the back-to-back. I did not look at any 2010 dates, I just assumed that things would stay close to the way they are this year.

No, ConFusion is January 22-24 2010 at the Troy Marriott, Michigan.

ConClave used to wiggle waggle on the October calendar when it was at the Lansing area hotel because of the Michigan State football schedule. Even at that distance from the stadium, it is not a good idea to have the con the same weekend as a Spartan home game.

Now, ConClave can get back to being on the weekend before Columbus Day. Of the few who get that off, it gives them a day to recover. It is also ends on Thanksgiving Day Eve for our Canadian friends, giving them a chance to enjoy their chosen family before enjoying their real family the next day.

Well, we did not have to put up with Yankee invaders last weekend, as The Detroit Tigers ended up not having any games to play on their way to The World Series.

I'm skipping OVFF this year, so I won't be there at all.

BTW, what's with the self-loathing?

I'll be working at the con, and making several runs to the airport, so once my schedule firms up let's see what we can arrange. I'll be at the con from Wednesday night leading the Fetal Puppy Filk.

Oh, and this year, I'll speak up ahead of time -- calendar, please?

Steve & I will arrive early Wednesday evening. Find us if you feel lonesome.

A calendar would be great.

I can't make OVFF this year, sorry. I think Kathy Sands did a couple of Elfquest songs at Anticipation. I'll see if Howard or the Haymans will pick up a calendar for us.

I would very much love a calender please!

And I'd love to make plans for Thursday but I have a feeling we'll be arriving late. It's a loooooooooong drive from here.

I'm not arriving until late Thursday evening (around 11pm, after dining with a cousin in Indianapolis), but I'm a fan of the Wolfrider's Reflections songs, and would definitely be interested in joining that sing. Would also like to hear some of the other Elfquest songs folks have mentioned. I'll just have to remember to pack that music for the trip. I'll also mention it to Carol and Barisha when I see them.
