So, as far as I've heard, the party starts at 6 on Saturday.  I assume there will be munchies, but if one wanted to get a sandwich or so before, is there a good place in Danville, Indiana, to get it?  And more importantly, would anybody else who's coming be interested in joining me and [livejournal.com profile] birder2?

There's a place about 4 blocks from Bill & Brenda's called The Mayberry Cafe, and yes, it DOES sport the obvious decor, along with a reasonable facsimile of Aunt Bea's cooking.

There is also The Golden Eagle, on Old Route 36 [turn left at the intersection right at the Kroger store] that I can recommend for breakfasts if y'all stay overnight. I seem to recall that Mayberry isn't open until about 11 a.m., which might not actually be a problem the morning after a filk party.

And if all you really want IS a sandwich, that Kroger store has a deli.

FYI, Margaret, I was out by the Curves the other day and the sign is back on the building, hours are posted on the doors, and there's equipment inside.

Next time you come up you might want to sneak up on 'em...

I'll keep that in mind when I'm up there in June.

There's the ubiquitous Subway on the other side of the town square, along with a little take-out Chinese place, and just down from there is the Dairy Queen should you choose to cast all nutrition to the winds...

Going out of town the other direction is Dave's All-American Pizza, which has good food if you can get past the gung-ho decor, and La Ranchera for Mexican. They are walking distance but the sidewalk ends about a block before you get to them.

Oh, and there is Frank's for Italian on one side of the movie theater, and Wiggles ("fair food", all of the cholesterol and flavor...) on the other side of it.
