Today's XKCD is an amusing poke at the quirks of us humans.  But one of the best things about XKCD is the mouse overs -- they're often better than the comic itself.  Today's is that way with a twist -- the alt text isn't funny, it's true and I wholeheartedly agree.

"I just noticed CVS has started stocking homeopathic pills on the same shelves with--and labeled similarly to--their actual medicine. Telling someone who trusts you that you're giving them medicine, when you know you’re not, because you want their money, isn’t just lying--it’s like an example you’d make up if you had to illustrate for a child why lying is wrong."

CVS is doing WHAT?!

I'm definately going to write a nastygram saying that if I cannot trust a drugstore to sell drugs, I'll take my business to Walgreens. If homeopathy worked, then I could fix the world's economy with one measily dollar.

Walgreens does it too. So does Boots in the UK. It's disgusting.

Back when I was employed and had a flexible spending account that could be used on otc medicines, I much preferred going to Walgreens who would put FSA right on the shelf labels. Vitamins were not considered eligible, but homeopathic items were. So my fish oil that my doctor told me to take for my cholesterol was not considered eligible, but quack-fake mcfaker crap that claimed to be good for whatever ailed you without actually being anything more than foul-tasting herbal tea was totally eligible.
I can't remember if it was this year or last, but now you can't buy even OTC actual medicine (like aspirin or antihistamines) (and also the homeopathic stuff) with fsa funds.
