From [livejournal.com profile] catalana:

Go to the toy aisle of any store. All the dolls (or "action figures") come packaged with one or two "accessories." Barbie has her purse, The Hulk has a big rock, Space Ghost has little cards and a desk.

If I were to go to the toy store and buy a YOU action figure, which one or two little objects would be in your package with you? Furthermore, what outfit would you be wearing, and what action would you perform when I pressed the little lever on your back?

Well, since there's only one part of my life that seems to attract any interest from people who encounter me casually, obviously my action figure has to be based on my volunteer work with the cats at EFRC.

Tiger Caretaker Phil® wears an EFRC T-shirt, shorts, and black overshoes, a sweatband, a sun visor, and sunglasses on a "torture strap". The winter outfit has work pants instead of shorts, a sweatshirt under the T-shirt, and loses the sweat band. The belt pouch should actually open and contain at least a hunk of steel wool, a hose nozzle, and short-handled pruning shears. The belt pouch strap also has a water bottle clipped to it on the left and a clip to hold the work gloves on the right. The work gloves are big rubber gauntlets that come halfway to the elbow.

The basic accessories have to be a small shovel and a 5-gallon plastic bucket, and the basic action is to bend over and scoop, so that if the figure is holding the shovel and the bucket is positioned right, the bucket loads up. Real tiger poop is available in a separate package for the serious fans!

Additional accessories include the wheelbarrow, the hose, and of course the build-your-own-cage set (this could be almost as much fun as Lego!), and the accessory action figures of the animals to go in the cages! There could be a whole line of collectible tiger figures! This could be a huge product line, and of course all the profits go to support tigers in the wild and in captivity.

Why do I suspect that this is just won't be the next Tickle Me Elmo?

The guitar isn't part of the Tiger Caretaker Phil persona. That would be the Filker Phil, which would be an obscure part of the line of filker action figures.

but...but...but....

"how do you sooth the savage beasts if you don't have a guitar," she misquotes.

Filker action figures! What a concept! Think of all the extra miniature instruments that could be sold to go with certain filkers' action figures.
